There are three businesses that will not fade until the end of the world. There are health, education, and culinary industry. This was conveyed by the Commissioner of PT. MAS Group Sentot Joko Priyono in a guest lecture and signing of cooperation with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The event, held on March 20, was a collaboration related to the Center of Excellence (CoE) Export of Agrocomplexes by UMM Agribusiness.
Sentot, as he is called, continued that there are many opportunities in the culinary business, including agro complex. It cannot be separated from the human need for food that must be fulfilled. Students should be able to make good use of it.
Regarding the CoE of Agrocomplex Export, he explained that the base camp of this class would be located in Pontianak. It cannot be separated from the port, which is very supportive, especially in terms of export regulations. CoE participants will be taught directly by stakeholders who are involved in export activities.
"So, those who provide training will start from commodity farmers, managers, customs, even to buyers from abroad. There also a diverse from the buyers, such as from Malaysia, India, to Bangladesh. Therefore, the participants can get a lot of experience and qualified training, "he said.

This class will include 80% practice class; the remaining 20% is theory class. Excellent seeds are expected to emerge and understand export and everything related. The principal director of PT also attended the event. MAS Group, Anne Sri Arti. She tells about the ups and downs of starting this business and invites young people to see the existing opportunities.
"I started all of this by getting out of my comfort zone, then hooking up some dairy farmers. From there, various ideas and efforts appear that continued to be developed. Everything has its obstacles, but if you are diligent and can see opportunities, I think success will be waiting at the end of the road," she said.
On the other hand, the Head of the UMM Agribusiness Study Program, Ary Bakhtiar, SP., M.Sc., sees that the opportunities for overseas market development are wide open. One relates to the agro-complex sector: food crops, plantations, forestry, animal husbandry, and fisheries. So this opportunity must be utilized properly. One effort that can be made is to increase the quality and quantity of exporters of this product.
The CoE is also expected to be able to provide students with knowledge and techniques related to exports. Not only for those who study in agribusiness but also across departments, faculties, and even universities. "Even with the provision of information about the potential and challenges of exporting agro-complex products, initial preparations before exporting and implementation in product export activities," he said.
Lastly, UMM Chancellor Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., explained that the export potential is promising. He hopes that those participating in this CoE can become reliable exporters. Not only knowing which products are good but also understanding regulations well. It doesn't have to wait for graduation, but you can start when you enter college.
"Until now there are more than 40 CoEs that have been start and running. Starting from CoE poultry, koi, chocolate, welding inspector, orchids, metaverse, and so on. Many people have come to UMM to learn about CoE management. There are even those who have opened a similar program," he concluded. (put/wil)
