Rector Fauzan: A Doctor Had to Have Personality to Serve the Community

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and Haji Surabaya Hospital held a Workshop and Evaluation activities for the administrator of Clinics in the Main Education Hospital, Hospital Network and Public health centre.

"This is a series of annual activities on evaluation for a year, like when there is a problem and how to solve it. It will be held in a large forum, such as changes from curriculum design, "said dr. Risma Karlina Prabawati, Sp.S as chairman of the committee when met at Harris Hotel and Conventions Malang.

Being a speaker as well as an administrator of the Division of Educational Hospitals at the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI), dr. Rini Listiowati, MMR., Raised the title "The Role of Educational Hospital as a Forum for Education of Young Doctors in the Era of National health insurance (JKN)". During the two-day activity (4-5 / 1), this activity was participated in by 19 East Java Muhammadiyah Hospitals (East Java), 15 Network Hospitals, and 9 Public health centre in the Kediri District Health Office.

Right now, AIPKI had 94 members of the Faculty of Medicine in Indonesia. "Of the 94, which have new teaching hospitals around 70. So there are still 24 faculties of medicine that do not yet have teaching hospitals," said dr. Rini

In addition, Rini also explained the functions and duties of the Educational Hospital in Organizational Governance namely Service, Research, and Education.

"The service must ensure the quality and safety of patients and service must be according to patient needs. The research includes the development of centres of excellence, collaboration with industry players, and research for medical education. And for the education field, it includes providing lecturers, providing health workers to fostering a network of teaching hospitals, "she explained.

"As one of the institutions that do not want to be left behind from the dynamics of society, especially the dynamics of human life, the consolidation in which an effort to evaluate activities is a must. Evaluation if interpreted more broadly, not only in partial arrangements. We hope for a comprehensive evaluation, "said Dr. H. Fauzan M.Pd as UMM Rector.

The evaluation was not only done to improve the academic quality of prospective doctors but also was expected to have a better contribution in order to shape the personality of a doctor. "So, besides they have the competence that is qualified, they have to have good personalities that are expected to serve the community," concluded Fauzan during his speech while opening the event.
