The commemoration of National Education Day which is always held by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) cannot be interpreted as a routine activity. However, this ritual must be interpreted as our effort to build commitment and awareness that education is one of the future investments.

This was conveyed by the UMM Rector, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. on the occasion as an inspector of the National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration ceremony, Thursday (2/5) morning, at Helipad Campus III UMM. The event was attended by lecturers, employees, students, and Elementary School students of the Kids on Campus short course.

The success of a country, continued Fauzan, will be largely determined by the quality of education in the country. "As a party involved in the education, let us be a ray, let us be the sun, which it releases its ray and can be enjoyed by everyone," Fauzan said.

He continued, the presence of UMM in terms of its contribution to education could not be doubted either personally or institutionally, whether it was gotten by students, employees or lecturers both at regional, national, and even international levels. "We are determined to continue to pursue that achievement," he said.

The only key to continuously achieving was making changes in all sectors at UMM. Starting from servants to students, communication between people, up to building good cooperation. It was all natural framework to provide reinforcement so that we always become the leading university.

One of the proudest, one of the UMM students who had been invited by the Ministry of Research and Technology and Higher Education because they succeeded to maintain the title of Trinity College Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest (TCFFHRC), in the United States on April 13-15 2019. The achievement was achieved by three proud UMM teams.

"What can we catch from this phenomenon? It means that all that is at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, must emit positive energy, must build strength that has positive resonance, both regional, national and even international resonance," said Fauzan.

Fauzan then invited the all UMM academics to continue to innovate. "Because, if we don't innovate, we will die. For UMM, there must be something new. Not only every year but also every month," he said. (Win)
