Today, artificial intelligence (AI) and technology are increasingly integrated into various aspects of human life. It was confirmed by Prof. Jihyun Park, LL.D. from Youngsan University South Korea, in the International Short Course on Law Reform 2023. The Faculty of Law (FH), University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), organized the event to prepare human resources in the digital era.

With the theme "Trend And Mapping In The Digital Age", the course was held for four days, from September 13-16. Interestingly, there were 300 participants from various parts of the world, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Afghanistan, Somalia, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Hungary, and others.

Furthermore, Jihyun explained that AI can already project an interesting future picture and has the potential to change the world around it. AI and robots are a world transformation that changes not only the industry but also human behaviour in everyday life.

"We live in an age where AI and robots are no longer separate entities. Humans and robots can work together in harmony. This can improve the efficiency in various fields and open the door to many new innovations," she said.

Even so, Jihyun also warned that although AI helps humans, it is necessary to maintain a balance, especially regarding the relationship between humans and AI. According to her, humans must learn to think critically and make moral decisions—more than relying on robots or AI for various jobs. Thus, cooperation between humans and AI can lead to progress in the world.

AI also has an important role to play in the law industry. AI can provide specialized judgments on sentencing, compensation, and other aspects of judgment that make up the foundation of justice. AI makes legal services more accessible, efficient, and objective. This confirms that technological capabilities can help humans live more practically but have the challenge of maintaining human morality in controlling all of it.

"Therefore, we present various experts in this short course. That way, there will be a lot of new information and knowledge gained. In addition, it can also be explored and studied more deeply," he concluded.
