Industrial Engineering UMM Builds the Spirit of Technology-Based Product Creation

The development of technology in all aspects opens new opportunities and challenges for renewable technology developers. The fulfillment of technology in the field of agriculture and the needs of people with disability are the reason why Product Exhibition with the theme Agriculture and Disability Tools was held by Industrial Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM).

The routine activities, held every year, is the result of the practicum of three subjects namely Planning Factory Layout, Work System Design and Economics, Product Design and Development. In particular, this year's products made by the students will not only stop at the exhibition, but also submitted to Ministry of Research and Technology of Higher Education (Kemristekdikti) through the Student Creativity Program (PKM).

"In this year, there are many changes in activities. The purpose is to enliven the activities and improve the spirit of the students to work," said Head of Industrial Engineering Laboratory, Annisa Kessy.

Added by Annisa, this activity is also an effort of Industrial Engineering UMM to increase student interest to continue to be equipment developer. The product of this student's work is also a media to bridge the students to improve the writing of scientific work.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Industrial Engineering Department, Dian Palupi Restuputri, stated that through the consistency of this product exhibition mat, the students can produce external cooperation to mass produce equipment in future.

"In the future, we will definitely plan to hold external parties to produce equipment," said Dian.

Various products were displayed in this event. One of them is Kasentra (Blind Sensor Glasses) which is a means of censorship of money for the visually impaired. (ard)
