The UMM Woman E-sport Student Activity Unit team won the third place in the Mobile Legend competition during the event which was held in early May. The achievement was obtained after defeating the previous year's champion, Binus University.
Alifia Kuntum as the leader of the UMM woman e-sport team did not expect to win third place. However, the UMM team did not prepare much of a strategy, only using the existing system and cooperating with each other. In addition, the support of family, friends, and UMM also made them to work harder to win.
"Honestly, we feel happy because UMM helps a lot. From the accommodation, the fast wifi, and bringing in professional mentors to enrich skills and knowledge," said the development economics student.

Even though E-Sport UKM has been established for a long time, the formation of the E-Sport Woman team just started about two months ago. They also did match practice with other teams and learned from the coach who was directly came from the Garuda Academy.
"From there, we learn how to do a good gameplay, bonding each other, learn the strategy, and choose the right hero," she added.
Alifia's expertise in playing games was found when she was in high school. Her hobby in gaming motivated her to join the e-sport championship. However, her motivation often getting mocker by her neighbors said that women shouldn't play games.

"At first it hurt to receive that comment, but from there I wanted to prove that women also have the right to determine the dreams they want. Including achieving through the e-sport path and pioneering a career as a pro player," she continued.
Furthermore, Alifia and her team are determined to participate in other prestigious competitions. With more preparation and strategies that will increase the winning percentage.
"This is the first proof that women can also play games professionally and win championships. Through this achievement, we also want to encourage other students to develop their potential. Don't just keep it, but maximize it to get achievements," she ended. (tri/wil/put)
