The agenda of suhoor on the road during Ramadan by giving a pack of food is usual. However, this unique thing was done by the team of Mobil Kamis Membaca (KaCa) [Translated: Car Thursday Reading] of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. They held the suhoor activity by grilling BBQ and beef on April 1, 2023, at the Square of Malang City. Many people sat down, chatted, grilled, and ate predawn meals at the location, like pedicab and online motorcycle drivers, travelers, and even those who accidentally passed by the suhoor place. \
M. Isnaini, M.Pd., the Director of the Bureau of PR Affairs of UMM, explained that this unique suhoor agenda was held without reason. The team of Mobil KaCa of the White Campus wanted to allow opportunities for marginal people to taste food, which is often considered "luxury." Mainly, they only have the chance to see and hear the food on social media or television.
"For example, online motorcycle drivers often buy and deliver BBQ ingredients to customers. They only bring the things without tasting them in real. Then, in this Ramadan, we attempt to share blessings to Muslims to allow them to follow the joint suhoor through this BBQ agenda," added he.
The suhoor on the road was not limited to cooking and eating activities. In fact, the BBQ agenda encouraged people to chat and share their concerns. The man known as Krisna, serving as the Head of the PR Affairs of UMM, said that 'joint suhoor' not only shares food but also facilitates human interaction as social beings, including sharing jokes and laughter and listening to each other.
Krisna admitted that his team intentionally targeted frequently ignored travelers and pedicabs and online motorcycle drivers for this predawn meal agenda. Therefore, the Ramadan moment can be the right choice to strengthen kinships and share. "In this holy month, it is the exact moment to recover the lost spirit of humanity due to being busy for the other 11 months," said Krisna.
Meanwhile, the Mobil KaCa of UMM has contributed a lot to society: comforting the earthquake victims of South Malang, visiting schools to improve students' literacy, going to remote areas to present educative shows, and even encouraging children to love reading by providing attractive reading materials.

Furthermore, this BBQ suhoor agenda was welcomed jolly by Slamet, one of the pedicab drivers who joined the predawn meal activity. He admitted that it was the first time he found a joint suhoor event with complete equipment such as tables, chairs, grills, and also rice boxes. There, Slamet also could chat and share jokes and laughter with other people while waiting for dawn.
"We also grill and eat the food together. Friends from UMM are also friendly. They not only give food and then turn silent, but also share UMM caps for pedicab drivers in order not to feel hot when working at noon," added he.
Last, Slamet hopes that sharing agenda is not only carried out during Ramadan but also in other months. "Hopefully, others can imitate UMM which not only shares food during predawn meal but also the spirit of humanity through human interaction," ended he. (imh/*/wil)
