Along with the development of transportation technology, it is undeniable that the living space in the city is getting thinner. Responding to these problems, explained Prof. Matthew Bruke, that currently 25% of the space in the city has been occupied by transportation. He stated this at the International Conference on Technology, Informatics, and Engineering (Icon-TINE). This event was held on Saturday (23/8) at the Ballroom, Rayz Hotel UMM.

The head of the Transport Innovation and Research Hub (TIRH) at Griffth University, Queensland Australia believes that private vehicle ownership is increasing day by day. This factor causes the city to become more crowded. This also affects the ineffective use of public transportation. Especially in Indonesia, where every resident wants a vehicle.

Matthew said that 85% of households in Indonesia own at least one motorbike. This makes Indonesia ranked third for motorized vehicle users in the world. Although electric motor technology is increasingly being promoted, according to him, this does not answer the problem because the number of vehicles will continue to increase. Especially considering the community's desire to have continues to exist.

"There needs to be a revolution in the transportation system in reducing the density of cities in Indonesia, especially Jakarta and Surabaya. There must be a system in the form of utilizing public transportation through an application with a one-time payment at the end that makes it easier for people to travel. In addition, the Car Share system can also be tried, namely a ride-sharing program with other people. The hope is that these two things can reduce the purchase or ownership of private vehicles. If the number of vehicles continues to increase, our living space will also be narrower,” explained Matthew as Keynote Speaker at the ICon-TINE event.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ghani explained 'Quantum Internet Beyond 6G Technology. He explained that the development of networking technology has developed, starting from 1G until now it will enter 6G. The Quantum Internet is an internet network with 6G speed that makes it easy for humans to access voice, text, graphics or images, and videos quickly even though the file size is quite large.

The Director of the Research Manager Center at the University of Malaysia, Sabah said that although it was good, the 6G internet quantum was not perfect. There are several problems to be solved. One of them is the complexity of the quantum internet network structure so its distribution in several countries is still difficult to implement. However, he believes that this quantum internet technology will soon be realized around 2026 considering that 5G technology alone has not been used in many countries.

Meanwhile, Iis Siti Aisyah, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. presenting new renewable energy and green energy. She said that the petrochemical-based industry and the depletion of petroleum were the backgrounds for the initiation of new energy. According to him, so far transportation still relies on lubricants made from crude oil. This is a factor in the depletion of petroleum reserves.

The head of the UMM Mechanical Engineering Study Program also explained his idea that there was a solution to replace fuel, namely Vegetable Oil as an environmentally friendly lubricating oil. Given the lubricant is used to launch the engine for motor engines. Unfortunately, the resulting carbon emissions are also high. Not only are oil reserves reduced, but pollution also degrades our air quality.

“This vegetable oil is a solution as an environmentally friendly lubricant. I am sure this lubricant can be useful and does not damage air quality because it is extracted from plants,” she said. (haq/wil)
