To follow up the cooperation between University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and the National Standardization Agency (BSN), the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of UMM held a workshop on product standardization at GKB II Meeting Room of Management Studies department on Tuesday (15/7). The workshop was attended 30 players of food industry under UMM guidance.
Came as the speaker Head of System and Evaluation of education and Training of Standardization Kristanti Andriani. She explained regarding SNI certification process. In addition, the participants were also introduced about Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) that delivered by BSN trainer Novia Priyani.
Through this activity, Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) under UMM guidance in the field of food received training regarding production process, raw material selection, production system, production site selection. So it was expected that UKM could produce a product with good quality, safe, did not contain hazardous materials and full of SNI.
"The workshop is expected to strengthen grass root of UKM in achieving their powers so UMM can give contribution for surrounding community", said DPPM Publication and Scientific Journal head Novin Farid on the sidelines of the event.
Not only training for UKM, there were also Training of Trainers (ToT) on Education Standardization and Introduction of SNI ISO 9001: 2015 for UMM lecturers. (Naz)
