University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held an online meeting with student guardians to strengthen the relationship between institution and parents. This agenda also attended by the chief of Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Prof. Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP.
Muhadjir began his speech with telling the purpose of the meeting. It is an inherent culture that UMM has done annually, this agenda not merely for knowing individually but expected to recognize the institution as well. “This silahturahmi (gathering) will become a place for inputs, critics and suggestions to parent who wants to give their best opinion to the board director of campus.” He wished both parties will have a good commitment to achieve student’s dreams, parent’s proud and the nation.
UMM has a great ambition to make academic education and vocation to have spirit of Muhammadiyah untuk Bangsa. “The entire elements should be connected each other in sake of giving merits to the society” Muhadjir said.
In the end of the speech, Muhadjir as well known as Chief of BPH (Badan Pengurus Harian) explained about how important self-planning is. He thought an action without decent planning can yield confusion what they should do next. Alike with Muhadjir, Rector of UMM Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. wished by this meeting could establish the identical perceptions between University and student guardians. Accordingly, it will alleviate the misunderstandings both parties. “I wish with all these purposes will produce a future leader that can lead based on their field” Fauzan explained.
On that occasion, there was also the signing of a statement letter to become a UMM student which was carried out by representatives of freshmens accompanied by the rector. Then proceed with the agenda of meetings with the deans in each faculty. (wil/nain)
