In order to study the rapid development of economic in the world, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) cooperated with International Relations Affairs (IRA) holding a guest lecture themed “International Economics and Business” in GKB IV Hall on Tuesday (9/5).
There were four speakers from four countries; they are Aurelija Rimkute from Vilnus University (Lithuania), Priya Rani Bagat from Manipal University (India), Dr. Magdalena Sztukiel from WSB University (Poland), and Albina Gaisina from Bournemouth University (Rusia). This gueat lecture was also attended by sixth semester students of FEB.
The Chief organizer of International Guest Lecture, Ratih Juliati, Dra., Msi conveyed that this agenda was held to make students as agents of change in economic and business know more and understand the business position of Indonesia. Ratih said, “Economics students must know the economic growth in Indonesia to be able to compete with other countries”.
Dr. Magdalena Sztukiel as one of the speakers from Polandia, explained that the most important foundation in running a business depends on strategy. It is important to know how to arrange the right strategy to attract customers. Sztukiel said, “When customers are interested in our products, the next step is we have to make cooperation and keep creating innovation to increase the quality of our products”.
Meanwhile, a speaker from India, Priya Rani Bagat explained the economic condition in her country. She explained that the characteristic of Indian economy is close to the distribution of low income per capita, the rapid growth of population, and low level of capital formation. Priya said, “ And dualistic economics, both modern industry method and traditional”. (lus)
