It is recorded that in 2022 the value of e-commerce electronic transactions in Indonesia will reach 475 trillion rupiahs. This was emphasized by the Head of Kepala Badan Kebijakan Perdagangan Kementerian Perdagangan  (Kemendag) (trans: the Indonesian Ministry of Trade's Trade Policy Bureau), Dr. Ir. Kasan, M.M. in the Ministry of Trade goes to Campus program, which 1,500 SMEs and students attended. The agenda, held on June 20 at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), attempted to provide an understanding of trade policies through the electronic system (PMSE).

Kasan said that 475 trillion rupiahs were obtained within one year. If it is calculated, there will be around 1.5 trillion electronic transactions daily. Therefore, the government, including the Ministry of Trade, is focused on developing and maximizing this field. One is making several policies that can stimulate the growth of related transactions.

He also explained that the pandemic from 2020-2022 made people aware of the importance of digital technology. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, physical interaction between people was limited, so inevitably, they had to use digital transactions. This also drives the rapid development of PMSE.

Furthermore, he also said that the value of Indonesia's digital economy is quite significant, reaching USD 100 billion. If the exchange rate is Rp. 15,000, then it is Rp. 1,500 trillion. This number is predicted to increase in 2025, namely an average of 20 percent annually to 120-130 billion USD.

"I think this PMSE is also in line with the UMM Center of Excellence (CoE) program which produces excellent human resources. Not only giving chances to entrepreneurs but also providing the provisions in accordance with the needs of the community and industry. That is what Indonesia needs at this time," he said.

On the other hand, Vice Rector I of UMM, Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Sc., appreciate the cooperation in carrying out these activities. Especially by bringing in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises actors in Malang. Even with the students who have a significant role in the future.
Syamsul, his nickname, said that the PMSE policy aligned with the UMM CoE program. Inviting hundreds of Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Industri (DUDI) (trans: businesses and the industrial world), the White Campus invited practitioners to discuss making a matching curriculum. That way, students who take part in CoE can gain skills needed by the industry so that their experience in the world of work is better.
