The unique atmosphere is seen in the lake on the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) campus. Dozens of students seemed engrossed in chatting while paddling water ducks. This water duck vehicle began operating for the public at the lake of UMM Campus III a few months ago. Not infrequently see a line of students and visitors waiting their turn to drive it.
Head of UMM Public Communication Section, M. Isnaini, M.Pd., explained this water duck ride was a form of infrastructure utilization at UMM, namely the campus lake. In addition, the presence of water ducks at UMM helped create a pleasant learning atmosphere for students. Interestingly, this vehicle is also open to guests and other campus students who want to know the White Campus more closely.

“We want the campus to be seen as a place for serious learning and fun. Initially, we only gave one water duck ride for a trial run. But due to high enthusiasm, we added three more water ducks. In total, the UMM lake has four duck boats that can accommodate a maximum of four people in each boat," said the Indonesian Language Study Program lecturer.
Krisna, his nickname, said safety was a priority. In addition to providing written counseling on how to use water ducks, the campus also works closely with the Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Divisi Mahasiwa Pecinta Alam (DIMPA). The DIMPA team helps oversee the use of water ducks. The university will also immediately make repairs if a duck boat is damaged.
“Not only ducks boat, but we also provide various places to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere at the White Campus. Such as the gazebo, container cafe, Mydormy UMM, etc. It is hoped that students and the general public can enjoy the learning process at UMM comfortably and quietly and help lectures become more relaxed," he said.
