The University of Muhammadiyah always attempts to achieve campus internationalization. Recently, the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of UMM has begun collaborating with 4 universities in Thailand: Prince of Songkla University, Silpakorn University, Chulalongkorn University, and University of Kasetsart. The signing of the cooperation was conducted directly at each university at the end of August.
In response to this, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of UMM, Dr. Ir. Aris Winaya, MM. M.Si. IPU. ASEAN Eng. assessed that the selected Thai universities have excellence in agriculture and animal husbandry. They have even a superb position in the World QS University Ranking. Hence, this collaboration is expected to improve the quality of higher education, promote creativity, conduct student and lecturer exchange programs, and hold international seminars.

"This is also an opportunity for the academic community of the White Campus UMM, especially for the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of UMM, to do joint research and feel the international atmosphere in Thailand to enhance academic standards. We will also continue to strive to add world-class (university) partners so that students can experience the international atmosphere," said the Dean.
One of the interesting collaboration forms is the Halal Science Center with Chulalongkorn University. Later, several relevant seminars will be held on September 5-6, 2023. A range of studies will be emphasized, especially regarding forensic tests determining the halal of the related products. Then, research and education will be explored with science faculties at associated universities.

The Rector of UMM, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., who directly attended the signing agenda, also appreciated the measure of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of the White Campus. World-level recognition and cooperation are indeed one of the keys to internationalization, and so are steps to support student mobility activities, conduct research, improve scientific fields, and do internships from both universities.
"Hopefully, this collaboration can strengthen UMM's internationalization, including its Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Enhancing research quality and quantity and providing international atmosphere for (UMM) students," concluded the Rector. (imh/*/wil)
