Gaza, Israel Air Force launched air strikes back at Gaza on Thursday morning local time. The attack came hours after rockets fired from Gaza back and landed in southern Israel.
According to Palestinian medics and security sources, the attack targeted a Hamas security location in the south of Gaza City. It said that Israel did not cause casualties.
While the Israeli military in a statement said the warplanes targeted a terror activity site in the northern Gaza Strip. "The location was targeted in response to rocket attacks on southern Israel," the Israeli military said in a statement as reported by AFP on Thursday (10/18/2012).
Earlier on Wednesday, October 17, militants in Gaza fired two rockets into southern Israel. There was no casualties or damage from rocket attacks. A few hours earlier, Israeli warplanes pounded the so-called Israeli military as "terror activity site in the northern Gaza Strip."
Israeli attack was in response to rocket attacks on Tuesday (16/10) evening local time. The rocket exploded near a house in southern Israel to destroy the building. There is no victim in this incident.
On Sunday, October 14, five rockets hit southern Israel, as part of an action-revenge attack countered that began Oct. 7. At that Israeli air strikes targeting two Salafis in the town of Rafah, Gaza Strip, killing one of them. Five children were also wounded in the attack. This attack sparked retaliation from Hamas and Islamic Jihad launched a series of rocket attacks into Israel.
The last time Hamas militants fire rockets into Israel is in June. When that Hamas release more than 150 rockets to wounding five Israelis. The Israeli military responded with air strikes that killed 15 Palestinians.
