Seven Paintings of Maestro in The World Stolen by Thief

VIVAnews - A number of paintings by master painters world stolen from an art exhibition in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The loss of the world's great works of painters such as Pablo Picasso, Henry Mattise, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin and this led to an art exhibition held at Kunsthal Rotterdam closed.

As rumored news station CNN, a spokesman for the exhibition, Mariette Maaskant, said at least seven paintings known missing. Exhibition organizers suspected theft took place on Tuesday morning local time. "The initial investigation showed that the thieves is to prepare well," police said in a statement.

According to police spokesman Roland Ekkers, alarm system at the Kunsthal reportedly died about 3 am Tuesday. This led to the suspicion of security and immediately went to the main exhibit hall. When the number of staff arrived, they realized that there were a number of paintings were missing. That's when they called the police to immediately investigate.

According to The Kunsthal, a number of works on display is a private collection that was first exhibited to the public. It took 20 years to collect 150 best paintings in modern art. "From the beginning of the 19th century to the present day," the exhibition.
