The lack of green open space in Jakarta

VIVAnews - Jakarta government targets green open space (RTH) up to 30 per cent in the capital in 2030. It was listed in the Jakarta Spatial Plan 2013-2030. While, to date, Jakarta has only 9.8 percent RTH.
Realize the plan, the Parks Department and Cemetery Jakarta submitted a budget to Rp240 billion to increase green space in Jakarta in 2013.
According to the Head of Department and Cemetery Jakarta, Catharina Suryowati, Governor of DKI Jakarta, Joko Widodo, plans to add 1,000 green space in an urban environment. "Gradually we will add it RTH. Next year we will liberate the land for small gardens called interactive park," says Catharina in Jakarta.
Chatarina explained, this small park will have an area of about 200 square meters and can be used citizens to social and educational areas. "The budget is a new initial estimates, as will be discussed with City Council," he said.
City government will cooperate with the Ministry of Public Works to increase the green space in Jakarta. A total of 250 villages will be the target of achieving a green open space.
Of the hundreds of villages that are expected to exist in 1000 RTH. At the very least, the program to reforest Jakarta and bring chirp burun in this metropolitan city can be realized immediately.
