The opposite is true in Poland if Indonesia is predicted to reach Golden Indonesia in 2045 due to the demographic bonus. Currently, Poland has a declining demographic index. This was conveyed by Krzysztof Szwarc, a lecturer from WSB University of Poznan, Poland, at the Visiting Lecturer Class and focused discussion on demographic bonuses. The agenda was held by the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), at the end of June.
"Polish people have a tendency to think that the main thing is to work and achieve glory. They make family the fourth or even last choice," said Kryz.
Kryz, who focuses on researching demography, said that the decline in the birth rate in Poland is inversely proportional to Indonesia. In fact, the graph is getting worse every year.
"In 2016, the Polish government even created a social program for families. Individuals who started a family and had offspring received a government allowance of 50 million rupiah. Unfortunately, this offer did not make people change," he explained.
This is what made Krzys himself move and explore the demographics of Poland. He wanted to know more about why the Polish people made this choice. "I continue to find out why Poland is experiencing a demographic crisis. This could be based on the mindset of people who see having a family as something complicated. Therefore, through this Lecturer Visiting Class event, I hope to share many things about the demographic situation of each country. Hopefully it can also strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation," Krzys concluded.

In line with Krzys, the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Driana Leniwati, MSA, Ak., said that she hopes this moment will become a chain that strengthens the cooperative relationship between the two campuses—even both countries. Many things can be discussed and collaborated on.
Regarding the demographic index, he considered that many factors could affect it. Kryz can also share information about the decline or increase in population. "We hope this event can open wider relations and cooperation with Poland, especially with WSB University of Poznan," he concluded. (imh/riz/wil)
