Pamper the tongue of visitors with authentic Indonesian food, Rayz Hotel Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) presents typical regional menus. The Legacy Cafe introduced this new menu during the Pre-Launching event on Wednesday (05/25).
Hotel Manager Rayz UMM Malang Hotel Yanuar Arifin explained that the addition of this new menu aims to rebrand the Legacy Café to become an authentic Indonesian restaurant. It is planned that this food will be served to the community in mid -June.
"In the launch of this new menu, we also introduce the concept of "Dhahar" which in Javanese means eating. In the implication, we divide food into three times, namely Dahar Enjing or breakfast, dahar Saren or lunch, and dahar dalu or dinner, "explained Yanuar.
Furthermore, Yanuar explained that the regional food served came from nine regions in Indonesia. The restaurant takes a typical menu in each of the selected areas. In the middle of June, the restaurant will serve this food to hotel visitors every night, Friday, and Sunday. But not only limited to hotel visitors but the food at The Legacy Café can also be tried by the general public.
"The Legacy Café, besides being able to be used by hotel visitors, this restaurant can also be used as a meeting place and gathering with friends and family. "For one meal at The Legacy Café, we sell 100,000 per person," concluded Yanuar.
In line with Yanuar, Head Chef Hotel Rayz UMM, Cucun Rusmana, explained that the selection of this new menu had been adapted to the tongue of the poor people. Some new menus that were introduced were Mi Kluntung from Surabaya, Gongso Fried Rice from Semarang, Ulam Rice from West Java, Bread Jala from Sumatra, Tekwan from Palembang, and others.
"When eating, we will also present live cooking for visitors. We will serve alternately every week for the menu while looking at the public interest. As for food selection, we do the most recommended food in each of the selected regions, "said Cucun.
In addition to regional food, Cucun also said that The Legacy Café had prepared a variety of processed sambal to accompany eating visitors. One unique sambal was introduced at this event, namely apple sambal. The introduction of this apple sambal represents the Malang City icon.
"We already have apple tea as a typical menu of The Legacy Café. But we also want to add another standard menu, apple sambal. In addition to apple sauce, we are also preparing tempeh sauce, Pete sauce, green sauce, plow sauce, soy sauce, sauce, orek sauce, shrimp paste sauce, and tomato sauce, "Cucun explained.
