THE BASIS AND PURPOSES
University of Muhammadiyah Malang compile and develop a program based on:
1. Pancasila and the Constitution of 1945,
2. Indonesian Law No.20 of 2003 on National Education System,
3. Indonesian Government Regulation No.60 of 1999 on Higher Education.
Concerning with the operational activities, University of Muhammadiyah Malang is guided by:
a. The Norm of Muhammadiyah University in 1999,
b. The Statute of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang in 2001,
c. Other regulations related.
The purpose of education at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang is as follows;
1. Produce graduates who are faithful, pious, mastering science and technology, professional, creative, innovative, responsible, and independent towards the realization of the main society.
2. Increasing research activities as a foundation to perform the education and develop science and technology.
3. Produce, practice, develop, and disseminate science and technology in regional, national and international scale.
4. Realizing the planned, organized, productive, effective, efficient, and reliable management to ensure the sustainability of the University.
5. Achieving that whole academic community are able to be a role model for other community life.
6. Building cooperation with other parties within the scope of regional, national, and international levels to develop education, research, and community service.
To achieve these objectives, University of Muhammadiyah Malang maximized the implementation Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which includes:
1. The performing of education and teaching,
2. The performing of research within the framework of cultural development, especially on science, technology, education, and the arts as well as to intensify and deepen the study of Islamic religious knowledge in order to get a purity to be performed,
3. The implementation of community service.
