Curricular activities
Subsection 13
Lectures
(2) Subjects is supervised by learning teams under the responsibility of a faculty coordinator.
(3) Lectures held in the form of face to face, tutorials, practicum, fieldwork practices, business practices, cross-college faculty / department, stadium general, and guest lecture:
a. Face to face is the learning activities that bring together lecturer and students in studying a particular subject.
b. Tutorials are conducted classroom guidance activities lecturer in solving problems specific subject.
c. Practicum is a learning activity carried out through experiments and research activities.
d. Cross-faculty college / department are learning activities organized by the faculties / departments outside the faculty / department student who majoring in that course.
e. Internship Program (KKN) is referred to activities undertaken by the students of UMM undergraduate programs Strata 1 (S1)) which is a mix of educational activities, field of research, and community service.
f. Practice Field Work (PKL) is a learning activity to test and apply theory in the implementation of certain occupations.
g.Guest Lecture is a learning activity delivered guest lecturers to increase knowledge and insight into a particular field of science and knowledge.
h. Leadership and Personality Building Program (P2KK) is a program that must be followed by new students, transfer students, and students over the level of Undergraduate and Diploma Programs.
Subsection 14
The Lecture Performance
(1) Lectures can be conducted if:
a) The number of course participants between 10 to 60 students.
b) The subjects are listed in class schedules that are approved by the Vice Rector I,
c) The subjects are taught by lecturers who are competent and determined by the Head of Department / Head of Study Program / Secretary / or another Section.
(2) Parallel classes can be held if the participant subjects consist of 60 students for social sciences while 50 students for the field of natural science and applied science through the provision of Head of Department / Study Program.
(3) The abolishment of courses due to insufficient participants will be determined by the Head of Department / Study Program by the agreements with course participants.
(4) Students who canceled their own subject can follow any other courses approved by Head of Department / Study Program.
(5) The abolishment of courses by the Department carried out at the 2nd up to 3rd week of the run semester.

Subsection 15
The Lectures Process
(1) In every beginning of the lecture, each lecturer told students on Lectures Events Unit (SAP), the practicum module, system, the standard of scoring used, and the passing grade set.
(2) In each of lectures, professors check student attendance and filling the teaching journal.
(3) If professors unable to attend, a lecturer will:
a) Notify the matter to the department / college courses, and student,
b) Replace the lecture at another time or replace them with equivalent structured activities through agreements with the student in college.
(4) During the course, each lecturer provides teaching materials, the results of the assessment tasks, and exams.
(5) Lectures held at least 80% of the schedule that had been set.
(6) In the course, lecturers provide remedial chance for students who do not meet the standard score systems and a module before final score is issued.
(7) Technical provisions about the activities of lecturing and remedial rules will further organized by the department / study program.

Subsection 16
Academic Advisors
(1) In order to assist students to complete their education properly and on time, every student mentored as a permanent lecturer of Academic Advisors (PA).
(2) Each semester students must arrange their study plans with the academic advisor (PA), and the study plan was stated in the Study Plan Card (KRS) on-line.
(3) Students may request assistance from the academic advisor in terms of getting information about educational programs at UMM, guidance in preparing the study plan for the semester which will take place, and assistance in solving various problems, especially concerning on the academic thing.
(4) Each of Academic Advisors (PA) shall follow the development of student study.
(5) Academic guidance by the advisor should be performed on campus.
(6) In certain cases, the function of the academic advisor can be diverted to the Counseling Guidance.
Subsection 17
Lecture Participation
(1) Face-to-face Lectures, tutorials, lab, and field work practices, midterms test(UTS), final test (UAS), and other curricular activities is a unity in which all of the learning process must be followed by every student; for students who do not follow all the above forms of learning can be declared as fail student.
(2) Students who do not follow the learning process as in paragraph (1) more than 20% are not allowed to join final test.
(3) The facility to Subsection (2) can be given by the Head of Department to students who are conducting curricular activities known by UMM Leader or even when getting pain by showing an official letter from the doctor.
(4) Students who are entitled to take part in lectures are student whose name listed in the attendance list.
(5) Students who come from outside of the faculty and the department environment can be a listener in the face-to-face lectures with the permission of course lecturer.
(6) Listener student who comes from outside of UMM is regulated separately.
(7) In the learning process, students who fail or less than the fit to pass the subject has his own right to acquire the remedial coaching.
Subsection 18
Scoring System
(1) Systems used in UMM assessment is a comprehensive assessment system.
(2) The orientation of assessment used is the orientation of Reference Standard Assessment (PAP) by setting a limit value of passing grade that describe the required mastery of lecture material;
(3) The learning process is monitored and assessed through quiz, assignment, practicum, midterm test, final test, and class participation which are declared in terms of numbers and letters.
(4) During a semester, at least, the assessment is conducted in 3 (three) times including the final test.
(5) All results of the assessment can be known by all participants in college.
(6) The scale of final assessment used as a measure of student learning result stated as follows;

Subsection 19
Measuring Success Study
(1) Measuring the success of the learning progress is stated with achievement index (IP) which is calculated based on the numerical score of the evaluation from very subject (N), the amount of credits from each course (K), and the cumulative number of subjects that have been taken (n) as follows ;
(2) Measuring the success learning progress within 1 (one) semester is declared by Semester Achievement Index (IPS); IPS is the Achievement Index that is calculated from all subjects taken in the semester.
(3) Study load of Undergraduate and Diploma Program students in the third semester and the following semester is determined by the IPS achieved in the previous semester with the reference as follows;

Special for new students, they must take:
a. The entire study load in Semester I, and
b. The entire study load in Semester II, regardless of his achievement at 1st Semester.
(4) The study load student of Master and Doctoral Program in the next semester is determined by the IPS in previous semester, with the reference as follows;
a. IPS ≤ 3.00; the maximum study load is 12 credits
b. IPS> 3.00; the maximum study load is 15 credits
(5) Taking every course must pay attention to certain prerequisite course. Prerequisite courses must be taken with a minimum score of D.
(6) Students are allowed to repeat the courses but five semester students are not allowed to repeat the course in semester 1 and 2. Certificates are given to students who have completed the Preparation Phase.
(7) All the subjects which had ever taken still be calculated as the study load so included in the list of score (transcript).
(8) The subjects which are taken over; the admitted score is the best one.
Subsection 21
Practicum
(1) Practicum is the learning activity that aims to allow students an opportunity to test and apply theory or even practicing scientific investigation in order to proof the theory of certain course
(2) The practicum is conducted in the laboratory, experimental gardens, stables, hospitals, schools, and some places elsewhere.
(3) Practicum participants are students enrolled in practicum courses organized by the department and or laboratory staff.
(4) The terms and organization of laboratory materials are determined by the head of department / program of study together with the laboratory head.
(5) The rule of practicum student is determined by the head of department / program of study together with the head of laboratory.
Subsection 22
Field Work Practice
(1) Field Work Practice (PKL) is a course that hosted by UMM intended to undergraduate and diploma students in the form of professional practice based on professional competence.
(2) The minimum credits load is 2 credits which are able to be applied into 1 month activities and 40 hours per week or the equivalent as 120 hours work that done at the field.
(3) When the activity is less than 120 hours of practice, students can complete it by working to help the laboratory.
(4) Field Work Practice participants are those who registered and have been approved by the Head of Department / Head of Study Program / Head of Laboratory.
(5) The Location of Field Work Practice is determined by the students through applying to the practical field or determined by the department/study program.
(6) The Field Work Practice is guided by a lecturer of department and a tutor who is provided by the location of field work practice.
(7) Evaluation and assessment conducted by the supervising of field work practice and the supervisor are based on the criteria of professional competence of department / program of study.

Subsection 23
Service Learning Activities
(1) Service Learning Activities so called as KKN is conducted by the students of UMM in undergraduate program, the activities includes educational activities, research, and community service.
(2) KKN is organized by the university in every semester and must be adopted by the students of UMM who sit at Strata 1 Program, it is guided by a supervisor.
(3) The location of KKN is organized by the Directorate of Community Service of UMM
(4) The participants of KKN are student who sits at sixth semester and at least has taken 100 credits or has taken research methodology courses or other short of courses.
(5) The amount credits of KKN is 4 credits which is undertaken at least for a month of provisioning and a month of practicing at the location.
(6) Evaluation and assessment is based on the guidelines of KKN practice.
Subsection 24
Guest Lecture
(1) Guest Lecture is learning activities that aim to increase knowledge of science being studied or the enrichment of knowledge.
(2) Guest Lectures are learning activities that can be implemented by the university/faculty/ department /study program/study centers to bring in someone who has particular expertise and experience needed to enrich insight and knowledge of the lecturers and students.
(3) The participants of guest lecture is a lecturer and student.
(4) The term of guest lecture is managed by the organizer of program.
Subsection 25
The Distance Education
(1) The distance education is an interactive class activity through information technology media.
(2) The distance education participants are students who registered for the distance learning program.
(3) Information technology facilities must be available in participant’s area for the distance learning that can be used individually or together in distance education.
(4) The matters related to other provisions concerning with the distance education courses will be specified by the organizer.
(5) The rule on distance education participants are defined by the program organizers.
Subsection 26
Leadership and Personality Building Program
(1) Personality and Leadership Building Program, so called as P2KK is an activity conducted by the university to assist students in establishing personality and leadership based on rules, norms, and principles of Muhammadiyah.
(2) New students of undergraduate and diploma program both regular and transfer student must join P2KK program.
(3) Leadership and Personality Building Program is taken in Semester 1 (one) by new student for 5 (five) days, all of them should stay at the location.
(4) Schedule and the participants of P2KK is determined by the organizing committee.
(5) The amount credit of P2KK is 1 credit which is equivalent to 1 subject of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan 1.
(6) Evaluation and assessment is based on the Guidelines for the Implementation of P2KK.
(7) The terms of P2KK participants is determined by the organizing committee.
Subsection 27
Final Project
(1) Final Project is scientific work and activity that must be prepared by every student of diploma, undergraduate, master, and doctorate program as a condition of obtaining an academic degree.
(2) Further provisions regarding final is regulated separately.
Subsection 28
Final Project of Diploma III Program
(1) Final project so as called as TA is the scientific work of students in the form of design, case studies, and problem solving in professional term.
(2) TA writing is organized based on the standard rules of scientific methodology.
(3) Evaluation and Assessment of TA is done through supervising, working, and examination.
(4) The final project is guided by 2 (two) supervisors who have the expertise in it.
(5) Supervisor I is a lecturer who has expertise on topic of students’ TA.
(6) Supervisor I at least have the academic position as Specialist Assistant with Bachelor Degree (S1).
(7) Advisor II is a lecturer in the relevant special expertise.
(8) Examination will be conducted when the TA has met the requirements set by the Program
(9) TA examiner is a functional lecturer in his expertise relevant to the student final test.
(10) TA Graduation is established through ‘yudisium’ which was read by the Chairman of the Panel Examiners.
Subsection 29
Final Project of Undergraduate Program
1. Final project for undergraduate program called as Thesis/ TA, it is student scientific work in the form of design, research, case study, and scientific problem solving.
2. TA is written base on the rule of scientific methodology.
3. Evaluation and assessment on TA is conducted through thesis guidance, paper work, and thesis test.
4. TA is guided by two lecturers on their expertise.
5. 1st supervisor is the lecturer from the department who has the expertise on the student’s thesis topic.
6. 1st supervisor at least has an academic position as Specialist Assistant also finished his Master Degree.
7. 2nd supervisor is a lecturer in the relevant expertise.
8. TA examination will be conducted if the student has met the requirement set by the Graduate Program.
9. TA examiner is a lecturer who has the position as functional lecturer of relevant expertise on student’s thesis topic.
10. TA graduation is declared at ‘Yudisium’ that will be read by the Chief of Panel Examiner.
Subsection 30
Final Project of Masters Degree Program
1. Final project for Master Degree Program called as Thesis; it is student scientific work in the form of design, research, case study, and scientific problem solving.
2. Thesis is written base on the rule of scientific methodology.
3. Evaluation and assessment on Thesis is conducted through thesis guidance, paper work, and thesis test.
4. Thesis writing is guided by two lecturers on their expertise.
5. 1 st supervisor is the lecturer from the department who has the expertise on the student’s thesis topic.
6. 1st and 2nd supervisor at least has an academic position as Chief Assistant also finished his Doctorate Degree.
7. Thesis examination will be conducted if the student has met the requirement set by the Graduate Program.
8. Thesis examiner is a lecturer who has the position as functional lecturer of relevant expertise on student’s thesis topic.
9. Thesis graduation is declared at ‘Yudisium’ that will be read by the Chief of Panel Examiner.
Subsection 31
Final Project of Doctorate Program
1. Final project for Doctorate Program called as Dissertation; it is student scientific work in the form of design, research, case study, and scientific problem solving.
2. Thesis is written base on the rule of scientific methodology.
2. Evaluation and assessment on Dissertation is conducted through thesis guidance, paper work, and thesis test.
3. Dissertation writing is guided by three lecturers on their expertise.
4. 1st supervisor is the lecturer from the department who has the expertise on the student’s thesis topic.
5. 1st and 2nd, 3rd supervisor at least has an academic position as Chief Assistant also finished his Doctorate Degree (S3)/Professor
6. Dissertation examination will be conducted if the student has met the requirement set by the Graduate Program.
7. Dissertation examiner is a lecturer who has the position as functional lecturer of relevant expertise on student’s Dissertation topic.
8. Dissertation graduation is declared at ‘Yudisium’ that will be read by the Chief of Panel Examiner.
Subsection 32
Lecture Rule
(1) Lectures is followed by students who already re-register and their name listed in the list of course member.
(2) Students should attend 5 minutes before the lecture begin.
(3) Students sign the attendance list in the classroom.
(4) Active students at least attend 80% of the lecture.
(5) Active students in practicum attend at least 90% of the lecture.
(6) Students completing course work according to plan learning.
(7) Students are prohibited:
a) To disturb the lecture process,
b) To use tool of communication during the lecture,
c) To break the disciplinary rules of UMM students.
(8) Breaking the rule on number 7, student may be dropped out from the classroom activity.
Subsection 33
Semester Examination Rule
(1) Students should bring up their Student Study Cards (KSM), it must be completed with recent photograph and has been approved by the Class Supervisor.
(2) Students are free from financial dependents.
(3) Student must sign the attendance list.
(4) Student’s dress must be neat, it covers:
a) Male:
1) In white tie with dark pants,
2) Using shoes,
3) Do not have long hair (shaggy)
4) Do not wear jewelry.
b) Female:
1) In white dress with black skirt and wearing headscarves for Moeslemah,
2) Using shoes.
(5) Coming 10 minutes before the exam takes place.
(6) Students are prohibited:
a) In disturbing the discipline and the serenity during the examination;
b) In opening the notes, books, and other stuff, it is closed book;
c) In copying, cheating on exam with other examinees;
d) In giving or receiving oral, written, or gesture etc;
e) In using cell phones and other communication tool that can give and receive information;
f) In breaking the discipline of students and Alumnus UMM.
(7) Breaking the rule on number (1) up to (4) is not allowed to join the examination.
(8) Breaking the rule on number (6) will get punished as follows;
a) The first trespass on one point of the above rules, student’s exams is disqualified.
b) The second trespass on one point of the above rules, whole test taken will be disqualified.
c) The third trespass on one point of the above rules; all subjects taken is disqualified, the score obtain is E.
(9) The things that have not been listed in this order shall be governed by the Faculty/Department/ Study Program.
Subsection 34
The Rule of Field Work Practice
(1) Field Work Practice (PKL) is followed by a student who is listed as the participants of PKL.
(2) The rule of PKL is set by the department with the related institution
(3) PKL is guided by the supervisor in the appropriate fields.
Subsection 35
Final Project Examination Rule
(1) Final Project Examination is followed by students whose name is listed in accordance with the decision of the Dean/Head/Director. Students must pass all subjects but the Final Project; they have to compile the manuscript with the approval of their supervisor.
(2) Participants come 15 minutes before the examination takes place.
(3) The students wear white dress, ties, black or dark color pants, shoes, and UMM coat.
(4) Students are not breaking the discipline of UMM students and alumni.
(5) The things that have not been listed in this order will be regulated by the Faculty/Department/Study Program.
