EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ACADEMIC DEGREE TITLE
Subsection 2
(1) University of Muhammadiyah Malang held Academic and Professional Education Program.
(2) Academic Education Program is an education program which is directed primarily at the mastery of science, technology, and art.
(3) Academic Education Program consists of Undergraduate and Post Graduate Programs.
(4) Vocational education program is educational program that prepare learners to have the capability in applied skills.
(5) Undergraduate Program is organized by academic education after secondary level of education.

Subsection 4
Semester Credit System (SKS)
(1) Credit is a quantitative appreciation of the successful completion of academic activities.
(2) Semester System is a system of education that is using units of time in semester of one academic year consisting of 2 (two) regular semesters and 1 (one) squinting semester.
(3) Semester is a unit of time activity consisting of 17 (seventeen) weeks of classes or other scheduled activities following the other activities, including 2 (two) weeks of the assessment.
(4) Squinting Semester is a unit of time between activities for 9-10 weeks effectively consisting of 8 (eight) weeks of scheduled classes or other activities include the following activities of 2 (two) weeks assessment, where the implementation is regulated separately.
(5) Semester Credit System is a system of education by using the semester credit units (credits) to indicate the study load of students, faculty workload, learning experience, and the burden of program implementation.
(6) Semester Credit Units (SKS) is a measure respect for the learning experience gained during a semester through a week of scheduled activities as much as 1 (one) hour course or 2 (two) hours of practicum, or 4 (four) hours of field practice, each one is followed by about 1-2 hours of structured activities and about 1-2 hours of independent activity.
(7) Semester hours (JS) is a unit of time length of face to face activity for 50 minutes.

(8) Semester credit system basically gives students the freedom to choose some courses that will be taken among the offered courses from the faculty or department concerned.
(9) Freedom to choose certain subjects as paragraph (8) is limited by the provisions of;
a) The prerequisite course, which must be taken before taking the courses that require pre-requisite course requirements;
b) The prerequisite courses passed are used to take the course of Field Work Practice, Field Work Experience, Field Experience Program, and the thesis or final assignment which is determined by the Faculty / Department / Study Program.
(10) Special for student in semester I and II, the total number of semester credits is determined by the department without considering on the provisions of paragraph (9).
Subsection 5
Lecturer Workload
(1) The minimum lecturer workload in one semester is 12 credits that include education and teaching, research, and community service.
(2) Theoretically, one SKS teaching has been defined as the lecturer workload for 50 minutes to conduct face to face courses scheduled per week, the first 50 minutes for planning and assessment of structured academic activities and 50 minutes other used for the development of lecture materials.
(3) The credits to perform tutorial is defined as the lecturer workload for 2 x 50 minutes face to face scheduled activities with students, including planning and assessment.
(4) The credits for laboratory and studio practicum are defined as the laboratory and studio workload for 3-4 hours per week in one semester.
(5) One SKS used to guide the practice of field work is defined as the guidance workload for 3 students per semester, including testing activities.
(6) One SKS used to guide the final project is defined as the guidance workload for 3 students per semester, including testing activities.
(7) Further provisions dealing with faculty workload is regulated in separate laws.
Subsection 6
Curriculum
(1) Curriculum is a set of plans and arrangements regarding to the objectives, contents, and teaching materials along with its methods used to guide the implementation of learning activities to achieve specific educational goals.
(2) High-education curriculum that became the basis of the implementation program of study consists of a core curriculum and institutional curriculum
(3) The core curriculum consists of group of subjects as follows:
a. The group of personality development course (MPK) is a group of study materials and lessons to develop Indonesian to be religious and devote to God the Almighty and virtuous noble character, good personality, independent, and have a sense of civic responsibility and nationality.
b. Group of scientific subjects and skills (MKK) is a group of study materials and lessons are intended primarily to provide basic knowledge and mastery of certain skills.
c. Group of work skills course (MKB) is the group of study materials and lessons that aims to produce some experts with their work based on basic knowledge and skills mastered.
d. Group of work behavior course (MPB) is a group of study materials and lessons that aim to build attitudes and behaviors that is someone needed for his work according to skill level based on basic knowledge and skills mastered.
e. Group of community life subject (MBB) is a group of study materials and lessons that is someone needed to be able to understand the rules of society in accordance with the choice of their life expertise in creating the work.
(4) Institutional curriculum represents a number of study materials and lessons that are part of the curriculum in higher education, consists of additional and science groups in the core curriculum established by considering the circumstances and needs of the environment and the uniqueness of University of Muhammadiyah Malang.
(5) The curriculum review conducted at least once in every two years.
Subsection 7
Course Structure
(1) The structure consists of compulsory courses, prerequisites, selection, and enrichment:
a. Compulsory subjects are subjects that must be taken by students.
b. Prerequisite courses are courses that must be taken before taking the courses that need to be taken.
c. Selective courses are courses offered then students may choose courses in the curriculum of his study program.
d. Enrichment course is another course which selected by students to enrich their knowledge and skills desired.
(2) Group of MPK and MBB are UMM compulsory subjects that must be taken in accordance with each semester distribution.
(3) MPK group consists of the Islamic Religious Education (al-Islam and Kemuhammmadiyahan), Citizenship Education, and Bahasa Indonesia.
(4) MBB group consisted of subjects MBB Social Sciences Basic Culture, Basic Nature, Internship, and English for Specific Purpose (ESP).
(5) English for the Specific Purpose implemented in semester one and two.
(6) Enrichment course can be followed in his studies or even in his cross study programs both in and outside of UMM.
(7) Enrichment lecture outside UMM must obtain the approval from the Rector.
Subsection 8
Workload and Duration of Study
(1) The workload on Diploma III Program at least 110 (one hundred and ten) credits that are scheduled within 6 (six) semesters, divided into Preparation Phase with the study load of at least 40 (forty) credits that are scheduled within 2 (two) semester and diploma phase with a study load of at least 70 (seventy) credits that are scheduled in 4 (four) semesters.
(2) The workload of Undergraduate Program at least 144 (one hundred and forty-four) credits that are scheduled within 8 (eight) semesters, it is divided into Preparation Phase with the study load of at least 40 (forty) credits that are scheduled within 2 (two) semesters, while Degree Phase with a study load of at least 104 (one hundred and four) credits that are scheduled within 6 (six) semesters.
(3) The maximum study load of 160 credits is designed for undergraduate programs, while the Diploma of 120 credits.
(4) The workload of professional education program is established by professional associations.
(5) Master Program study load of at least 40 (forty) credits after completing Undergraduate Program in a plot, it is scheduled within 4 (four) semesters. The student candidate who takes different major from his previous study is obligated to join and pass the Matriculation Program which will be organized by Post Graduate Program.
(6) Doctoral Program study load of at least 76 (seventy-six) credits after completing the Masters Program in the plot and it is scheduled within 8 (eight) semesters.
