Multimedia Language Laboratory

Multimedia Language Laboratory is an audio-visual language laboratory which is equipped with computers and multi facilities for language teaching. This laboratory is intended to provide a means of intensive development of language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Language learning activities in the laboratory is also intended to give students opportunities to learn individually or in groups according to their level or speed of learning.

Language program training in this laboratory is operated by CD-ROM, video, and audio tapes.

This laboratory is used for several departments;

Other than fulfilling teaching language in the UMM environment, this laboratory is also used for;

a. Language Laboratory Workshop for high school teacher surrounding East Java

b. High school English Teacher Upgrading,

c. Intensive English Program or the TOEFL program, for language learning outside of the UMM, and

d. Testing Service Cooperation with some institutions nationally or internationally for the purpose of certifying the TOEFL, IELTS, and others.

 

For the multimedia laboratory sophistication, language learning can independently develop all language skills with various media / functions along with the learning resources owned by this laboratory. In the medium term, this laboratory is expected to be used as a means of new student test that the result can be monitored in the same time with the student himself. While for the long term, language laboratory is expected to be developed for self-access learning center that truly adequate and conducive to language development at UMM.
