Community Service Institute
Direction and Objectives:
Community Service Institute (LPM) is an institute under the Vice Rector III which has vision role on the effort of science and technology experience conducted by the academic community (lecturer and student) institutionally through the following activities:
a. Education and community service (Dikyanmas), and
b. Integrated-KKN for community empowerment based on scientific pattern (PIP).
Meanwhile, the objectives of the community service performed by LPM are:
a. Inside goal, that is to applicate research and education results of the acedmic community and also to improve the quality of research and education. It includes the community service itself as an effect of feedback process obtained from the community.
b. Outside goal, that us to sove real problems in society directionally and integratedly using scientific approach menggunakan. Besides, it is also used to cooperate with institutions which have goals in line with the community service goal of the UMM.
Activity Program:
To optimalize institutional function, LPM has three main programs, among others:
a. Community Service performed by students (PMM)
It is an intra-curricular communty service activities done by students in LPM target area.
b. Kuliah Kerja Usaha (KKU)
It is a community service performed by students where the goals are to coach and guide Usaha Peningkatan Pendapatan Keluarga Sejahtera (UPPKS) through productive economic activities of a family in order to realize small family which is happy and welfare.
c. Education and Community Service (Dikyanmas)
It is a community service performed by lecturers and students in the target area of LPM. It is aimed to develop science and technology spread and implementation to improve human resource quality in handling and solving incidental or sustainable problems. The education for society is in the form of course.
Meanwhile, the community service coul be in the form of healt service, legal assistance, religious guidance, city planning, project planning, and feasibility study, etc..
The forms of educational and service activities performed by students which can support their academic activities in the classroom are social service (baksos), Practical Training Program (PKL) and internship on particular agency or institution.
